Only an hour and a quarter from Dargaville. You can enjoy a stopover in the Waipoua Forest and visit Tane Mahuta. A 45 minute drive from Kaikohe, or catch the ferry from Kohukohu to Rawene and drive through Opononi to Omapere – 2k on from Opononi, past Kokohuia Rd and the fire station, on the left, immediately after the two 50k signs is "Hokianga Haven ", on the right by the blue and yellow sign.
Coming from the Waipoua forest into Omapere, 2k past the Tourist Hotel and the Information Centre on the left, a slight bend in the road, two 50k signs and our sign by the driveway on the left.
